Committees
Committees are a key component of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce. They are comprised of Chamber members and are formed to address specific issues or interest areas. They are also one of the best ways for our membership to become actively involved in policy development around various issues. Without the vibrant and open committee structure, which is in place at the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber would cease to be an effective voice for business.
Membership Committee
The objective of the Membership Committee is to communicate with existing members on a regular basis to garner opinions and concerns that the members wish to express or have addressed by the Chamber, and to promote the benefits of membership to increase the general membership of the Chamber. This committee operates in cooperation with the Membership Coordinator.
Business Development Committee
The objective of the Business Development Committee is to promote existing business, attract new business, provide educational seminars and informational sessions and address specific business development concerns within the community.
Elections Committee
Chaired by the Past-President of the Board of Directors, the responsibility of this committee is to prepare and receive nominations for the Board of Directors, to have general charge of the election, to prepare distribute and count the election ballots, in accordance with the Chamber’s Election By-Law.
Events Committee
The objective of the Events Committee is to organize all aspects of the Annual Chamber Dinner and such other special events for the membership as may be required. The work of the Events Committee is carried out in cooperation with the Events Coordinator and General Manager.
Government Relations Committee
The objective of the Government Relations Committee shall be the facilitation and promotion of the Chamber with all levels of government, including the City of Brandon and Province of Manitoba, and the gathering and sharing of information with the same. Ongoing goals for this committee include effective and efficient government, and an environment that is conducive to business success.
